Work with your fellow players!
With a limited amount of Skills and Items that you can readily use at any given time, there's no way that you'll be able to fight off the whole of Castle Low's Guard all by yourself. Instead, work with your teammates and play to your individual strengths! When everyone's doing their part in the battle, you'll be so much more likely to defeat formidable opponents and overcome challenges!
Be creative with what you have on hand!
Most Skills and Items will be given concrete, in-combat definitions of their effects in the Item and Skill Encyclopedias. But Aether Curtain isn't entirely a video game; you can be more creative with how you use them! So long as your use of your Skills and Items follow flavor and make reasonable sense, you can do whatever you want with them in ways outside their in-battle use!
Look for hidden details!
Aether Curtain is full of hidden secrets, surprises and interactions, but it'll be up to you to find them all! Look for little details - things like background objects, quirks in characters' personalities, and so on. By exploring them, you'll be able to find things like special items or other bonuses, weaknesses in enemy forces, a more lively cast of characters and insight in the castle's lore!
Always attend to downed players!
When a player is downed by their HP hitting zero, you'll lose morale! In addition, you'll suffer lose even more morale that doubles for every additional player that falls afterward, and for every turn that a downed player remains downed! You can revive a player with any form of healing or simply by trying to help them back to their feet, but do it quickly before the losses become too much!
Go stylish for big bonuses!
By going out of your way to do things the hard way or by simply one-upping the competition, you can score big bonuses, such as increased XP and Morale gain, additional Skills that you might learn when you spend your SP, and other possible interactions and opportunities! It might be difficult to do these things under the heat of combat, but if you have the chance, go for it!
Find ways to end fights without combat!
Although combat is a straightforward and simple way to get through the game, you might be able to clear a stage without raising your weapon at all! This might require either convincing your opponents to stop fighting themselves, or setting up some sort of trap with the environment around you. These approaches might be necessary if you face foes you have no chance of defeating otherwise!
Even if you can't do it now, try it anyway!
Don't let the constraints of the game mechanics and your current set of skills and items strictly limit you from what you want to do! Even if you wouldn't logically be able to do something, try to do it anyway; you might be able to get a success anyway, or you might set yourself on a road to be able to reliably do it later!
Don't forget to have fun!
We're all here to have a grand time and enjoy the story of a ragtag group of rebellious heroes, so don't forget the people who are participating and helping make Aether Curtain possible. Even though the challenges are tough, and you'll inevitably conflict with one another, just remember that we're all playing to have good fun, and respect one another!
